The Compliance and Education Specialist plays a pivotal role in the implementation and day-to-day operations of the UPH Ethics and Compliance Program. The Compliance and Education Specialist assists the Department of Medicine’s Compliance Committee with the development, implementation and periodic review of the Risk Assessment and Auditing Plan, Training and Education Plan, corrective action plans and compliance-related policies and procedures for the 15 sections within the Department of Medicine. Candidate must have Coding certification through a nationally accredited organization, either CPC or CCS. Working knowledge of procedure and diagnosis coding, medical terminology, insurance reimbursement policies, Medicare and AHCCCS regulations and other payer policies; Ability to develop and formulate working processes, policies and procedures; Demonstrated computer proficiency including the use of Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint; Demonstrated proficiency with IDX, SCHED, BAR, AES Access, and IDX-rad; 5 years experience in health care environment required; Two years work experience with compliance related matters required; Bachelor’s Degree in a health-care related field preferred. |
